Business Cards Redesign

I completely redesigned my business cards to a brand new look:

I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. It is a great start to a new beginning.

Typography CD Design

There is still some changes that I want to be made, But for now this is what I'm going with.

Super Mario World Booklet

      For my final Project in my Print class we had to back a 16 page booklet on whatever we wanted. I picked my favorite Mario game. I kept my pages consistent and it turned out pretty good. The only program I found was when I printed. The background was too strong for a couple pages, making the font harder to read.


 

Cover

The cover is fully vectored by me. I used the original cover art of the SNES game as a reference. The only things not vectored by me is the map in the background, and the ground.

Page 3 - 4

This is the first double spread of mario. I added the character sprite on the top right, which I created by the pixal. Also by the page numbers I added one of the enemy sprites, which I did for every page.

Page 7 - 8

This is my favorite page. I really like the diverse Yoshi's and how they are placed in the double spread. It's a colorful page that I think is pleasing to the eye.

Back

This is the back cover. I wanted to make it seem like the end of a level in the game. I vectored the background and the "finish line" myself.  

      Overall, it was a long, but fun experience. Vectoring all those images, and creating all the pixals for the sprites was fun, just time consuming. I think it turned out really good though and I'm impressed with it.

Paper Mario in 3D

I created this with After Effects, vectoring everything you see myself. It was a fun project, and really interesting to see 2D images seem like they are in 3D Space.

   For this school project we had to make 2, two page magazine spreads, with the theme being whatever we wanted. So I picked things that I enjoy. I think they turned out pretty good, I especially like the Eminem one.

What you Don't See in Movies

     Romance movies are great. The protagonist has a self realization that he or she is madly in love and drops everything to be with that person, they make out passionately forever and the screen fades, the end. Everyone leaves the theater a little happier. But there is something that I recently learned about Romance movies and that is that they are full of it.

     In the real world, there is no fade to black. There is a story after all the kissing and it isn't always good. Lets say our protagonist had a girlfriend of 2 years, meets a different girl and his self realization is that he is in love with the other girl. Sure for the guy and the new girl its perfect at the time but after words, There is nothing in it but hurt feelings. Movies like to coat the fact that there is still that girlfriend in the picture, and he is still going to have to break her heart. He is going to loose a lot of friends, and there will be a lot of tears. The sad truth is, it takes longer than a long passionate kiss for things to start to get better. The breakup process is brutal, for all parties, and no matter who you are it will always hurt.
